Über Hydra

Vor 36 Jahren veröffentlichtes Arcade-Videospiel: Hydra (c) 1990 Atari Games Corp. Ein abstraktes Rennspiel, in dem der Spieler die Rolle eines Sonderkuriers der Regierung übernimmt, der am Ende jeder Etappe eine Reihe geheimer Frachten an seine verschiedenen Ziele liefern muss. Das Gameplay besteht darin, ein schwer bewaffnetes Luftkissenfahrzeug über eine Reihe von Wasserstraßen zu steuern und dabei den feindlichen Fahrzeugen und Barrieren auszuweichen oder sie zu zerstören, die jedes Level verunreinigen. Der Fortschritt wird durch Minen, feindliche Luftkissenfahrzeuge, Baumstämme und andere Hindernisse behindert. Geldsäcke können ebenso eingesammelt werden wie zusätzlicher Treibstoff. Der Treibstoff an Bord geht stetig zur Neige und die Spieler müssen nach zusätzlichen Brennstoffzellen Ausschau halten. Zusätzlich zu einem nach vorne schießenden Geschütz ist das Luftkissenfahrzeug mit einer „Boost“-Funktion ausgestattet.
